Designed by former Ryder Cup Player and legendry golf commentator Peter Alliss, the course was first played in 1992.
There are no steep hills to climb and the walks from tee to green are nice and easy. The views are wonderful especially when playing thefinal six holes and there is an abundance of wildlife to look out for. A complete ecology review was undertaken and the course management plan incorporates the findings so as to produce a course that not only provides a marvelous environment in which to play golf but enhances the land for much of the local flora and fauna.
Built on chalk downland, the course is amazingly free draining. Trollies are never banned and no use of winter tees or greens make Dummer an all year round course.
